Headhunter Games Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and HireDirectNow, LLC ("HDN," "we," "us"), of Irvine, California, about your use of Headhunter Games ("the games"). By playing, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the games. Our Privacy Notice explains how we handle information and is part of these terms.
1. Who can play
The games are for adults 18 and older. By playing, you confirm you're 18 or over.
2. Education and entertainment only
- The games are practice tools for leadership, hiring and career conversations. They're for education and entertainment only.
- Not legal, HR or career advice. Nothing in the games is legal, employment, HR, tax or financial advice, and playing doesn't create an attorney-client or any other professional relationship with HDN. Employment laws differ by state and change over time. For a real hiring, pay or employment decision, follow your company's policies and talk to a qualified employment attorney or HR professional.
- Fictional content. Coach Huntley is a fictional cartoon character, and every person, company and scenario in the games is made up. Any resemblance to real people or companies is coincidental.
- Scores aren't a credential. Scores, tiers, levels and badges measure play in the game only. They aren't a certification, a skills assessment or a hiring recommendation, and must not be used to make decisions about real candidates or employees.
- No guaranteed results. We don't promise that playing will get you a job, a promotion, a hire or any other outcome.
3. Free to use; we may change the games
The games are free. We may add, change, pause or remove games, cards or features, or stop offering the games, at any time. Your progress is stored in your own browser, so clearing your browser data will erase it.
4. Acceptable use
Please play fair and keep the games working for everyone. You agree not to:
- copy, scrape, republish, sell or rehost the games, cards, art, music or code, or build a competing product from them;
- use the games' content to train or test an artificial intelligence or machine-learning model;
- try to break, overload, reverse-engineer or get around the games' security, except as the law expressly allows;
- use the games or our name to mislead anyone, for example by presenting game scores as a real assessment, or by suggesting HDN endorses you;
- use the games in any way that breaks the law or harms other people.
You're welcome to share your score card and the game link for personal, non-commercial purposes. That's what the Share button is for.
5. Who owns what
- HDN content. The games, including the cards, scenarios, Coach Huntley's tips, the Coach Huntley character, artwork, design, logos, text and software, are owned by HireDirectNow (or by the people who license material to us), and copyright and trademark law protect them. "HireDirectNow," "Headhunter Games" and related logos are HDN's marks.
- Music. The music in the games is by Anthony Cayman, who owns it and permits HDN to use it in the games. You may listen to it while playing. You may not download, copy, record, remix or redistribute it.
- Your permission to play. We give you a personal, limited, non-transferable and revocable permission to use the games for your own learning and enjoyment, under these terms. All other rights are reserved.
- Feedback. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything.
6. Links to other sites
The games link to sites such as hiredirectnow.com and LeadersWhoRise.com. Other sites are governed by their own terms and privacy notices, and we aren't responsible for third-party sites.
7. Provided "as is," without warranties
We work to keep the games accurate and running, but we provide them "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises or warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that the games will be accurate, complete, current, error-free, secure, uninterrupted or fit for a particular purpose, or that any legal reference in them is up to date for your state. The games' legal references reflect general California and US rules as of November 2026.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- HDN isn't responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive losses or damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost opportunities or harm to reputation, arising from the games or these terms, including any decision you make based on the games.
- HDN's total liability for any claim about the games or these terms is limited to one hundred US dollars (US$100).
Some laws don't allow certain limits on liability. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as liability for fraud, for willful injury, or for a violation of law where California law doesn't permit the limit.
9. Responsibility for misuse
If you misuse the games or break these terms and someone makes a claim against HDN because of it, you agree to cover HDN's reasonable costs of that claim, to the extent the law allows.
10. Suspension
We may block access to the games for anyone who breaks these terms or misuses the games.
11. Governing law and disputes
California law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing any claim, please email us so we can try to resolve it informally. Any dispute that isn't resolved will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California, and you and HDN agree to those courts' jurisdiction. Either of us may use small claims court for a qualifying claim.
12. Changes to these terms
HDN may revise these terms now and then. We'll change the "Last updated" date above, and for important changes we'll show a notice in the games before they take effect. Changes apply going forward. If you keep playing after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms; if you don't agree, please stop using the games.
13. General
If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later. You may not transfer these terms; we may transfer them as part of a sale or reorganization of HDN. These terms and the Privacy Notice are the whole agreement between you and HDN about the games.
